Are you a jazz fan who’s curious about bebop, or interested to dig deeper into the moment when jazz exploded into something new?This session is designed especially for jazz fans who want to deepen their understanding and connection to the music.This 60-minute online workshop — available live or on replay — will bring to life the sound, stories and spirit of the bebop revolution — a movement led by Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk and a generation of fearless young musicians.This session is hosted by Simon Lasky, acclaimed British pianist and composer who is a piano Professor at The University of South Florida and comes with session notes and a downloadable 25-track listening
guide.

About Simon Lasky

Simon Lasky is a British jazz pianist and composer, winner of the British Composer Award and Palladium Creative Fellowship.His music has been performed at London’s Barbican and Wigmore Hall, broadcast on BBC Radio and NPR, and he’s shared the stage with leading jazz artists including Jason Marsalis, Tim Garland and Herlin Riley.Known for his engaging and accessible approach, Simon makes complex musical ideas clear and inspiring — even for non-musicians!

When is the session?The live workshop is happening November 7th at 2pm EST (7pm UK / 8pm Central Europe)What if I can't make it live?The workshop will be recorded and the replay will be available for you to watch whenever you want over the next 3 months.How do I tune in?The live session will be hosted on Google Meet; no download necessary, you just access via the link we'll send you.What if I don't enjoy the workshopWe want you to LOVE these sessions. If you're not happy with it for any reason, contact [email protected] anytime before the end of November and I'll give you a full refund.Can I ask questions during the workshop?We'll be hosting a live Q&A at the end of the workshop.
